Step 1: Make the Cars

She transformed ordinary moving boxes into Lightning McQueen and Cruz inspired cars for her kiddos to sit in. To match the colors, she wrapped the boxed in colored tape, so not pain and no dry time-just pedal to the metal speed in assembly.

Next, she spun into action for the tires and steering wheels, using black and yellow black paper plates.

After adding some reflective tape for the tail lights, custom-printed tags for the license plates put the finishing touch on the rides. Download them here.

Step 2: Fuel Station

What is a drive-in without a pit-stop for refueling! She turbo-charged this concession stand with race style flair using supplies she scouted online and in hobby stores.

Each kiddo grabbed a personalized basket with their own movie ticket, doubling as a pit-pass-loaded with goodies to fill their engines.

They powered up with fruit, veggie sticks, hummus and popcorn. Coolant came as good2grow featuring Cars on 100% juice.

Her little racers were thrilled to park themselves in their custom-built vehicles, munching on snacks full throttle!

Step 3: Greenlight, GO!

With the screen and decorations in place, it was time to shift to high gear. The stage was set, the crowd buckled in, and as the sun dipped below the horizon, it was show time!
